Energy Audits:
An energy audit is the energy road map for your home, and Free Energy Maine is the only full-time independent energy auditing company in greater Portland, servicing all of southern Maine. Our energy pros will provide honest advice about which projects make the most sense.
Air Sealing:
Warm air is escaping your home 24/7, and your dollars are escaping with them. Sealing attic hatches, chimney chases and other major leaks can provide great bang for your buck. Efficiency Maine recognizes that, and provides up to $500 toward projects that eliminate excess warm air escaping.
Insulation:
When done correctly, insulation is essential to making your home more comfortable. Spray foam and cellulose insulation can significantly lower your heating bills, which is why Efficiency Maine offers $1,000 rebates per zone (the zones being: attic, walls, and basement). Our insulators will do a high caliber, neat, professional job improving your home.
Heating Systems and Heat Pumps:
Insulation helps keep your home cozy, but it also needs a well balanced, efficient heating system. Efficiency Maine offers rebates for both central heating systems, and heat pumps.
Qualifying for Rebates:
Free Energy Maine can qualify you for all Efficiency Maine rebates. Air sealing projects like attic hatches, weatherstrips and sealing chimney chases can qualify for up to $500 in rebates. Insulation work can qualify for up to $1,000 per zone (those zones being the attic, walls and basement). That means that you’re eligible for up to $3,500 toward making your home more comfortable!
Do you heat with natural gas? Unitil, Maine Natural Gas and Bangor Natural Gas will match the Efficiency Maine rebates, up to $2000 per zone and can cover half the cost of a project!
Qualifying for Loans:
Efficiency Maine also offers easy to qualify for loans. You can borrow up to $15,000 toward improving your home. We’ve guided hundreds of customers through the loan process, and our advisors can assist you as well.
